- Channel Lineup For Keller FiOS TV
-
Service Packages

September 22, 2005 -- Official Launch of Verizon's FiOS TV -- Verizon has been testing their FiOS TV in Keller for a while now and they have announced that starting today, they will be taking orders for their new FiOS TV video service. The current pricing for their basic service is $12.95, while the expanded version is $39.95 per month.

The basic service only provides local television broadcasting, public television, education and government channels, while the expanded television service offers 180 different music and video channels.

Verizon is also offering digital set-top boxes to basic service customers so they can have access to pay-per-view and Video on Demand programs. This is far from what the cable television and directv satellite providers offer. Cable television providers usually only offer these services to digital television subscribers.

FiOS TV also offers HD television programming, a total of 20 different channels, however, the cost to rent their HD set top box is $12.95 per month. The price to rent their regular set up box is $9.95.

Premium channels such as HBO or Cinemax will cost you an extra $14.95 a month each. However, Verizon will be offering both HBO and Cinemax services for $24.95. Although the price of HBO and Cinemax is high, Verizon is offering The Movie Channel, Showtime, Encore, and Starz for only $11.95. That's a total of 45 channels for only $11.95. Verizon FiOS TV offers around 600 OnDemand movies for $3.95 each movie.

Nearly 9,000 homes in Keller, Texas will be offered the chance to view crystal clear video at a minimal cost. A few other towns in Texas will also be offered this television service later this year. Wylie, Sachse, and Westlake will be the next towns in line to receive FiOS TV.

California, Florida, and Virginia can also expect to find the television service available to them in the very near future. Verizon will also be offering a bundled package which includes both internet and tv. This package will reduce the monthly price of FiOS TV by $5. Subscribers who purchase the voice, television, and internet package will receive $10 off their monthly bill.
