Hello to all. Hope someone can help.
Whenever a phone call comes into my home, while the phone rings, and while someone is on the phone, my wireless internet connection is lost. Is there anything I can do to fix this. My FIOS speed is 5/2. Is that too slow ??

Thanks

you need to switch the frequency of the router.  Call Verizon and they can tell you how to do it

I don't believe that you can change that actual router's frequence as it operates in the 2.4ghz band. You may have to replace your wireless phones to either 1.9 or 5.8 ghz models, or replace your router to a model that operates in both the 2.4 and 5.8 ghz band. If you receive FiOS TV service, then you are required to use the Actiontec router that came with your install, because it provides VOD and guide data for your receivers. Fortunately, there are ways of setting up the Actiontec to only do those tasks, while allowing a secondary router to handle the internet traffic and wireless.

Room3000 is incorrect.  You can change the frequecy either on the router or the phone.  These frequencies are 'channelized" - meaning you can change the channel of either the router or the phone.   Look in the literature for the phone, there should be instructions to do so.  Otherwise, log into your router and change the channel.

Some channels overlap, so you may have to do this change two times.  A wild guess at a channel will probably work just as well.

Thanks

to start..
figure out the frequency on your chordless phones.
more than likely they are running at 2.4ghz.
although, i've seen this issue happen with phones capable of higher frequencies.
had to state the obvious

the main thing to do to try and resolve the issue is changing the channel inside the router

here is how to do it:

- open a browser window
- type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and hit enter
- sign into the router USER: admin PASSWORD: password or password1 (try the second one first)
- click on WIRELESS SETTINGS icon at the top of the page
- click on BASIC SECURITY SECURITY SETTINGS on the left of the page
- find the channel drop down and select a desired channel
- after selecting a channel hit the apply button at the bottom

you may have to try several channels until you find one that doesn't interfere with your phone.

if that doesn't resolve the issue
you might have to get rid of one of the devices
i dunno what to tell you....flip a coin lol
