While shopping around for a new internet provider I was talking to a Verizon FIOS rep about internet packages.

He made a comment that if I went with the 50 Mbps/20 Mbps then I would be practically untouchable on-line, being able to run up on someone shoot them and be half way across the map before they drop.

To me that sounds a little hard to believe.

I know people use Lag Switches to break the connection for a few seconds and things of that nature to bounce around maps on-line, but I haven't met anyone with a internet speed SO fast that it causes them to be a "super soldier."

It's obvious a slow connection can make a difference but is there a peak at which internet speeds start performing the same when it comes to on-line gaming regardless if its 20 or 50 Mbps .

I'm not paying $150 JUST for high speed internet but, it would be nice to know if I'm at a disadvantage on-line.

your ping times are not gonna be that much lower..
i don't think you're going to notice a difference
if you wanna get anal about it
by all means
but seriously
if its just you by yourself playing off that connection
you don't need it

if you have a big family
or if you have a big group coming over to play ALL the time
maybe.....
