When I check my speeds at speakeasy or speedtest I get download speeds up to 1,500 KB/s but when I download from anywhere else it's barely 50 KB/s (sometimes even worse...)

well to start
reset the router
if that doesn't work
you can patch your tcp/ip settings
through this link (btw this only works on xp)
www.verizon.net/optimizesettingsi promise this will not harm your computer
also you can go to
www.speedguide.netthey also have a program to patch your tcp/ip settings
its a bit more complicated to use though
working on getting the fix for vista
