Guys,

I'm in Temple terrace and getting turned on next Monday the 9th with FIOS internet and TV. I have two questions.

First, regarding the internet- I saw that a D-link wireless router is going to be used for the install and was wondering if the D-link extender would work with it to extend my wireless coverage?  I already bought the extender so it will be ready when the installer is present.

Here is my dilemma- I'm in one of the old mediterannean homes that were built with lots of stucco on a metal mesh form.  Therefore most of the rooms act like Farady cages and block out most signals.  I have a little cottage out back that houses my home office and that is where I brought in my previous cable internet connection.  I then used a Belkin wireless router to beam to the house.  I was able to then use a Belkin extender inside the main house to cover the the front areas that couldn't be seen from the router in the office.  I prefer this arrangement because I use the internet more from the office than from the main house where I need it for the kids.

So, anyone know if the D-link extender works with the D-link wireless router used by FIOS?

Second question regards the TV as well as the internet.  I would like to get in on the Digital Home revolution and acquire a new Intel Viiv platform computer. I see that Directv is working with Intel to allow their programming and features to be available within the Viiv computers. Anyone know if Verizon is going to do likewise? If so if there are any details that would be great as it affects some new purchases from me.

It would be a shame to have all the capability of fiber and not be tightly integrated in this new wave.  I guess my vision would be that the Viiv computer with a plug in card replaces the "receiver/tuner" from FIOS.  That the Viiv HD stores and manages my HDTV and other content and I wouldn't be using the FIOS HDTV storage unit.

Thanks
