I was finally able to sign up for FIOS internet (December 12, 2005). I have an install date of December 22, 2005. I live in the 46835 area near Saint Joe Center and Maplecrest Road. I have had the wire buried from the main trunk line to my garage for some time now.

Glad you have a install date Wgathcell. Soon you will be surfing with style.  Grin I had my install date back on Nov 28th. You should be lucky that they buried your wire before the ground froze.  Wink

Hey Topgun what speeds are you averaging now? Have you had any down time?

Just ran a speed test and this what I got 14,890 download and 1,480 upload. Still the same from the first day when I had it installed. Never had any downtime.

That is great to hear! I just had Dish Network installed and I really like it, it is great for HDTV.

I had Comcast TV and 6 Mb/Sec internet service. When I called to have the TV part Disconnected, they didn't tell me my internet speed would drop to 4 Mb/Sec. I kept running speed test and kept getting 4Mb/Sec. I thought that was odd, because I was getting 6Mb/Sec and better. So I called them, and they let me know I was down graded to 4Mb/Sec. They ask me if I wanted to upgrade back to 6Mb/Sec for $10 more a month. Cry I said you got to be kidding me! I said NO Thank-You, I will be getting 15Mb/Sec soon, and at alot cheaper price than that.

I cannot believe Comcast has not even tried to keep thier customer, but instead just push them away. Not a good way to run a company like that.  I wonder how many Comcast installers have went over to apply to Verizon?

You should notice the DISH has more then twice the better picture then Comcast's digital cable. When I had their digital cable, the picture was too fuzzy and out of focus look for me. And plus it cost me $80 per month. I didnt get the HD package from DISH because I didnt like the channels they offer for HD. So I bought a off air HD ant and watch the local in HD. I have the DISH's $47 per month package. But anyway, when I cancel Comcast's digital cable, they jack up my internet bill from $45 per month up to $60 per month. I dont know if they downgrade my service, because I never checked the internet speed. Those bastards!!  Grin I am just keeping the DISH until FIOS TV up and running sometimes in 2006. I been reading FIOS TV twice as sharp then DISH. Man that is sharp!
