Availability... a block away...

My town is listed here (hasbrouck heights), and as far as I know, we got wired up years ago... save for my block apparently.

I'm getting fed up with my cable and FIOS would be the only other logical solution... if they would serve me. I definately remember trucks at the top of my block and seeing them around years ago, and I know people just a block up (as in across the street) with service. I can probably hit their house with a football from here, but I can't get FIOS. You can pretty much go in any direction and get service, but my block seems mysteriously blacked out.

Are they never going to finish that last 5% of the town (aka us) or what? I don't even understand how such a situation can arise. Is there anyone I can query about this? What are they doing, other than nothing?
