Unless someone's been sticking their head in the sand, cablevision has 15/2 already (deploying in FIOS AREAS NOW) and has a 1 year deal for 30/2 at the $44.90 price. Verizon better stop sticking their head in the sand and keep listening to the doom and gloom by shareholders otherwise those 21k aquisition costs will be alot more and become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

I am all for competition, but I have Comcast Cable now, and I am waitting for FIOS.
Comcast has never lived up to anything they told me they would. I am paying for 6 Mb/sec, but the best they have been able to do is 4 Mb/sec on a good day. If Verizon offers me 15 Mb/sec and delivers, I will stay with them. I want service not talk.

It does deliver. I get consistent 14-15mb speed on my hard-wired computer and 11-12mb on my wireless laptop.

i am a bit skeptical about the high speeds cable providers are selling
right now i have road runner i decided to go with the 10megs option and it is already looking like a bad idea not to say that its bad service but i definitely know some of the technicalities of cable i was iffy about it at first and i war right they sold me that connection and gave me no extra equipment.
so think about it 10 megs through coax? without moca? wouldn't that be like pushing an elefant through a pipe smaller than its rear end? that sounds like an exageration but still i haven't done much troubleshooting on it because of time but i know almost for sure that packets are dropping because of the speed i may need to call in to throttle it down a bit.
any thoughts?
