dvr remote viewing

does anyone know how to set up my dvr to view it remotely.trying for quite a long time now and not able . have an avermedia dvr and working fine ,but i want to view from laptop when away. for what it is worth , i knowwfios has dynamic ip, and i went to dyndns and setup an address but dontt know what to ndo from there. especially setting up port forwarding ....i dont want to screw anything up .just so you know .....when i type in my dyndns name it goes onto sign in page for fios router settings     CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A STEP BY STEP .....THANK YOU

when you say "dvr remote viewing" you mean just to set up the recordings correct?
