Keller (texas)?
Well, Keller is a rapidly growing (3-4K in 1980, 36K+ now) very affluent (not me!) bedroom community in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex (several million folks) , so it is not exactly an out-of-the-way place.

Verizon Communications has a very large office complex in Las Colinas, in Irving, TX, just a short commute away. And I understand a large number of Verizon execs and managers live in Keller (and Southlake next door), which may have affected the decision. But picking a nearby place where it would be easier to support the initial rollout probably played a role too.
Over the last couple of years Verizon has expanded the FiOS service to many other areas in the Metroplex. As someone pointed out, remember you need to have local Verizon phone service available in your area to get FiOS. The Metroplex is very much divided between mostly two phone providers: Verizon and AT&T (formerly SBC), so that is another reason why some parts have FiOS and some don't.
And before you get too upset that Keller was first, we have not yet received any of the speed upgrades that other parts of the country have gotten.
