I heard that Verizon is rolling out a new HD service which includes 100 new HD channels. Does anyone know of the rollout plans, timetable or details? I heard it will start in the East than move to the West and should be timed about same time when they cut over from analog to digital which should be early September - about now.

Most of the areas currently being served with Fios TV has converted over to the rollout of more HD channels. First, Verizon needs to shutoff the analog local channels(switch them to digital so you will need a cable box for all televisions) and upgrade their local distribution facilities. Once those are things are done, Verizon will have a channel realignment and add the new HD channels. Here is link to the analog shutoff and the channel realignment. Everything should be done by early to mid October if everything goes correctly.
