Have not been successful in getting any confirmation on rollout in this community although all cable is in now in the ground.  Rollout time will affect my xmas purchases.  Can anyone give us a rollout date or even an estimate? And are FIOS costs in other areas all comparable or do they vary significantly.  I have seen the Keller TX prices online.  I Should get good reception since Verizon's FIOS TV national satellite array is only about 2 miles from my house.

Last date given for launch in Temple Terrace was ''December''........believe it was published as such...renot the St. Pete Times.......or the Tribune not too far back.

So.....i'm thinking there is a huge chance it will be December........Verizon has stated a number of area's will launch before the end of the year, personally......I believe it could be any day now for Temple Terrace.

Fios prices look to be the same across the country, as well as the channel lineup......minus the differences in local content. The ''expanded'' Fios package looks to be going for $35.00/month when bundled w/ their internet $40.00 without the bundle......tons of channels, 100% digital, (with no compression on HD) awesome service,  awesome deal.

as for quality close to the signal source.....that's the great thing about fios, doesn't matter how far you are from Temple Terrace master headend.......fios is delivered 100% fiber all the way to your house. Will be nothing short of amazing quality.

Temple Terrace, Verizon To Launch Pay-TV Service
Officials with Temple Terrace and Verizon Communications Inc. on Tuesday plan to announce the launch of Verizon's new pay-television service, similar to cable television, in Temple Terrace. Temple Terrace was the first Florida municipality to grant a pay-television license to Verizon, the dominant telephone company in the Tampa Bay area.

Verizon has been heavily marketing its FiOS fiber-optic communications service as a combination of telephone, Internet and TV service in direct competition with the dominant local cable-TV company, Bright House Networks, and satellite-TV companies. Tampa and Hillsborough County officials say they are negotiating with Verizon to grant similar TV licenses to sell pay-television service.

Cable Rates Increasing

The nation's biggest cable companies are boosting their rates by single-digit percentages, citing rising costs for programming and investment in new services.

Industry leader Comcast Corp. is raising the rate on its most popular cable package by an average of 6 percent next year in all markets, and No. 2 Time Warner Cable customers are being asked to pay an average 3.1 percent more for its expanded basic package and 1.9 percent more for its limited basic plan.

Local cable company Bright House Networks has not released new rates for next year.
