I'm now three days with my new FIOS TV (I already had FIOS internet & phone service). The installation was originally all messed up because the moron at the Exton Mall Kiosk couldn't put the order in right. But after finally getting someone on the phone who know what they were doing, we got the install scheduled.
Funny thing, the installer only got the notification at 4:30pm - for a install scheduled between 1 and 5, that's darn late! But despite that, he came in and connected the service up, checked all the lines, replaced a few jumpers and we were good to go. I'd highly recommend the service.
One question I asked him was, what if the output is too low? Is there a way to crank it up a bit? The reason I asked was I have 6 TVs and a few computers hooked up to the splitter. He commented that normally it's a problem of the signal being too high! He had to reduce mine slightly (3db), but even without that, we were good. I did notice a few channels with a little pixelation. So, after he was gone, I removed the in-line attenuator he installed - now everything looks perfect.
All-in-all, great install, great picture and the price will end up being about $40 cheaper than Comcast.
And, for those interested in such stuff, I am getting all the locals in HD via QAM tuner - but its just the locals, which is what I expected. Still, if you have a TV or computer you want to watch or record HD local channels, it works just fine.
