Wireless Internet For Macintosh

Hey everyone.  I have Verizon FiOS at home with the actiontec router set up for wireless internet. Now, the router itself is set up in one room and if I connect my mac to it via ethernet, it works fine.  I would really like to take my mac into a different room and have it connect to my router wirelessly, but I cant figure out how to make it work wirelessly.  Has anyone done this before, or does anyone know what to do?

Provided you have wireless capable laptop, you'll have to set up a wireless network via some sort of network applet with your Mac OS.  I'm only using Windows though so Macs might be different.  With windows, a list of potential wireless connection points is presented to you when setting up the wirless network and then you choose the name of the one yours is, using it as the default.
