Hi!

I've got Fios Internet for about 20 days now.

I'm not that savy with PCs or Network so please bear with me here.

Overall I'm really happy with Fios 10/2 and it was an improvement over my old Cable(Bright House).

Now to the problem I'm facing:

When I turn PC on and open the browser (IE) or Firefox it's all good and I can surf the net and go about my biz for a long time with no problems BUT if I go away for awille few hours (5 or so) and come back and try and open the browser again it won't Connect to the Net. It's not on! Even the Virus Scanner won't update if i try manually!! The net is not there!! By the way, all the leds on the router seem to be "on" normally..

I found that the only way to connect again is to reboot the PC and open the browser again.

I thought,  talking to support from Fios that could have been my Onboard Ethernet failing so I installed a new Linksys NIC card which improved the speeds but didn't solve the main problem of connecting!!

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Rick

i'm going to assume this is the only computer in the home.
if so..
try running it in safe mode with networking (hit F8 during boot up) for about a day and see if the same thing happens. If possible try it with a laptop.

Thanks for your input.

So, run in safe mode for a day? What do you mean "with networking"?

If does happens in safe mode what could be the reason for this? - And if does not happen?

I'm just confused as what could be causing this problem. For now the solution is restart the PC...

Yes this is the only Machine here.

Thanks again and I'll post results soon!

Sorry about all the Qs Huh
