For the most part I like my FIOS TV much better than what I had with COMCAST. One exception is COMCAST had an at least OK selection of free movies and shows on demand.  FIOS has very little "free" an NO HD at all.  Free or otherwise.   With all the bandwidth I don't understand this omission.   Very stupid on Verizon part I think.   Not going back to COMCAST but with this latest upgrade to the interface I might be thinking about going to Dish.  Do they do any consumer testing with these things?

I agree with you about the lack of HD material from VOD. Rumor has it that it is on the way, but who knows when, could be next month, could be two years from now. Come on Verizon, give us more HD, new channels and VOD! And do it now!

I don't agree with you about the quantity of "free" VOD. To me there seems to be quite a bit of it there; maybe you don't like the selection, but there is stuff there. And if you have the Movie Package ($12.95 I think) that gives you a bunch of SD channels, it also gives you a large number of VOD choices from Starz and one or two of the other channels in the package. If you have the Movie Package, check that out, it does not appear under the normal "free" VOD listings, you have to go to the Subscriptions area to find them.

I am curious what your reference maybe going to Dish after the upgrade to the interface is about. I do not yet have the new Guide, I am really not looking forward to it, but like any new software it apparently does have some bugs. I know they did some testing, a couple of their trial customers have posted numerous entries on some Forums, lots of likes and some dislikes. And certainly some bugs. Supposedly the rollout of the new Guide has been delayed some so some of the bugs can be fixed. But unless you just can't receive anything to watch or can't record what you want to, why would a few problems with the new interface cause you to consider a switch to Dish?

I had cable before FiOS, and there is just no comparison, FiOS blows cable away. And from what I have seen of Dish at my son's house, FiOS blows it away too.
