Fios, I thought was my dream come true. My retreat from the monsters of Comcast, but I was wrong. The Internet service, after installing a new router at my house goes on and off, for no reason. I have tried on multiple computers, this has been going on for 2 weeks. I asked someone to come and work on it and they said MONDAY OR TUESDAY, I took off BOTH DAYS of work. they came on THURSDAY. They neevr fixed the problem. I cant log onto the router because the password types 3 characters per keystroke. Its stupid as hell. The cable quality is pathetic, the programming is less than a third of comcast's, theres limited on-demand, no anime network, lots of things missing. And its more expensive! Screw this! If this keeps up im switching!.

    With the attitude you are displaying here, I think you should go back to Comcast, you apparently really don't want to keep FiOS. But on the other hand you switched for some reason....

    I am curious: why did you post what you did? Just to feel better? Do you want sympathy? Answers to the questions you didn't ask? What?

    FWIW, I have had FiOS internet for 2+ years and TV for almost 2 years. They both put the cable service I previously had to shame - much faster (approx. 16X)  and far, far more reliable internet, far better TV picture, more channels (SD and HD), on and on. There is just no comparison, at least for me, I would never go back to cable.

    Now, if you really are looking for help, why don't you tell us what you had from Comcast, and what you have from FiOS - internet speed, TV package, wired/wireless, etc, what you have done to optimize your FiOS internet connection and what performance you are actually getting (go to a couple of the speed sites and tell us what you are getting)?

    As far as the router password goes, that makes no sense. When it was first installed, I am sure the installer logged in, did he have any problems? Did everything work after the initial install, or have things changed? And what do you mean it "goes on and off" - wireless works/doesn't work, wired works/doesn't work, both, what?

    And of course the most important thing you should do is call Verizon again (and again, and again, if necessary), and report your problems. Make sure they know that they did not come as scheduled, keep on them. And when (if?) a technician comes, make sure he doesn't leave until it is fixed. 

    Or just go back to Comcast, TV and internet service just isn't worth a heart attack or whatever from the stress.

    haha i found this post amusing
    lets me start with the funniest part
    the router's log in did its job once again
    that is a security measure put into the router
    just type the password as usual the extra characters are just there to trick ya


    in regards to the router turning on and off you can definitely call into the FSC and had another one shipped to you.


    with the tv service...
    unfortunately what you see is what you get
    hopefully they anime network will be avail when i get my service too
