So glad to get away from cable, but my Hitachi plasma HDTV picture is not as sharp (kind of filmy) on HD programming and has really grainy/looking-thru-the-screen-door effects on SD programs. I have been advised in all different directions: from my plasma is not true HD, to LCD's are better and CRT's are best, to "never heard of that before" . Is there a solution to this problem (I have had this TV for over 1 year with HD from cable, so I am familiar with what HD looks like and the programming that says it's HD but may not be, but I do not want to switch back to cable)? Also, I am shopping for a new HDTV for a family member and would like advise on what type (LCD, plasma, DLP, etc.) to purchase for best pix with FiOS hook-up, to be viewed from 8-10 feet. Thanks!
