I just had FIOS installed at my new home.  I have a MAC as my primary home computer and both my wife and I have PC Laptops.  The Laptops run great through the wireless broadband, but the MAC is like running through mud.  When I put in a web address or hit a link, I can count to at least 30 before anything happens, and when screen does flip I still have to wait while it finished loading.  A tech was here 2 days after it was intalled (the power supply went bad) and he notcied the same thing I did, but had no answers.  He went to a site which tested the speed and it said I was getting 15mbps which was the extent of his help.  I went the the Apple site and downloaded and installed the BroadbandTuner and it got a little better, but still hangs for awhile before it loads a page.  I had Cavalier DSL at my old house and never had an issue with it, and it was much faster than this.  I am about to tell Verizon to stuffit!  Any suggestions?

maybe I'm full of mud myself but maybe the MAC is not compatible with the verizon wireless router. If there is any way to by pass the wireless router and connect directly to FIOS, try that and see if the problem goes away. I'm on FIOS also and I think I checked the verizon FIOS website to see if my system was compatible with their wireless router.

I have no problems with the router - according to the speed test I am receiving 15mbps.  I have a less than 1 yr old MAC running at 1.83GHz and 512MB RAM.  I downloaded the Broadband Tuner from the Apple.com site which had no impact.  I spent about 2 hours on the phone with a FIOS tech on Saturday and he acknowledged it was not running as it should but could not fix it.  He put in some sort of service call, but I found that the two "techs" that came to my house already knew less about computers than I do (which is no easy task).  I have the MAC and two PC laptops so by-passing the router is not an option.

Again, I was running 10Mbps with Cavalier at my last house, and had no problems.  I can't imagine what would cause a signal coming in a 15mbps to run so slow.  Is it a Safari issue?

Any ideas?
