Before the FIOS TV installation, I 'm planning to run coaxial wiring and will split the main coaxial running to the attic (25' run) into 3 seperate lines (down from the attic - ea. max. 16' run). Will I need amplification on the splitter or what "Distance" will splitting the source or secondary coaxial wiring reduce the signal quality? Please advise how you performed multiple room installations?

To answer your last question first: I let them do all of the installation. There was existing RG6 in my attic and they reused some of that, but they had to install some new RG6 (and in my case cat 5, which you probably won't get/need since it is no longer required). They fished the cable inside one wall from the attic. And my advice is to let them take a look and put in what is necessary, rather than you doing it. But that is just my opinion...

Those runs sound just fine, no amplifier should be needed (I have at least a 50 foot run from the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to the splitter, and one TV is at least another 50 feet from the splitter, and TV and internet are perfect). Verizon supplies a high-quality splitter that provides good signal strength in BOTH directions (required), so even if you do your own wiring I would leave the splitter up to them. The ONT that they will install to convert the fiber signal to electrical produces a very strong signal as I understand it, and frequently the installers need to reduce the signal strength at your TVs.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck, I am a very happy FiOS user with 5/2 internet and 3 TVs.

Just to let you know, you will not need any type of amp on those runs. It will still , based upon the length of the runs stated, it will still probably have to be attenuated.
