New Installation

I plan to get Fios TV and Internet service but my home is without Cat 5/5e or coaxial. I note that verizon indicated in their web site that the installers will not do any inside wall fishing. Is this true, since I have read one posting to the contrary? What charges are associated with installing wall outlets?

I think it really depends on the installer who comes to your home.  Before my installation, I asked them to fish the wire down the wall from the attic.  They said that wouldn't be a problem and that they would even put in a wall plate.  There was no charge for doing this.  Just ask them nicely and they may be helpful like they were to me.

I had the same experience as jrs163, they fished two new cables down one wall, and replaced another cable in another wall that was damaged. No charge for any of it (but it was 1 1/2 years ago, so things may be different now, or in your location).

I think the most important thing is to be there when the installation occurs, and work WITH the installers, not against them. Mine were great and very easy to work with.
