Just switched to fois tv and was very excited. Till I turned on my 70" hd tv!!!! The Picture is Dull, dark and drab, not to mention reduced in picture size. Even if I put full screen on the tv controll there is no way to change it on the fios remote or box. My picture is constantly changing size. I understand about the 4:3 format and all, but fios should be able to switch format according to the broadcast. ie: 16:9 1080 to 720, 480i .  Never had this problem with Direct tv and got the most life like pics!!!!!! Don't be penny wise and dollar foolish if you value you picture quality Direct tv is the only answer.

Start with what STB you are using with this 70" TV. What cables are you using HDMI, DVI, RGB or S-Video. Your picture size should be consistant in the HD channels. Your low-def channels should be set to your preferance (stretched 4x3 or whatever looks good to you) If the high-def channels have a space in the top and bottom of the picture I'll bet your on the wrong input. Either way your setup is wrong. strip the whole thing down and try viewing the picture with the HD inputs only and then move onto the low def. I've done a 1000 (really!) installs and your little comment about a penny wise is very short sighted and foolish in its self.
Start with the high def cable installed only to your tv and go from there. If you need to enter the advanced set up reply and I'll walk you through it if you need. please refrain from slamming a product until I/you can make sure its set up correctly.
