FiosTV in Pittsburgh PA (Dormont CO)

Hi all,

So, I've had Fios Internet since Aug 05, and it absolutely rocks.

However, I've been left waitiing and waiting (and waiting) for the TV service to be available. 

Rumor had it that it was going to be 1st Q 2007, but that's what I was told when the installers were hookin' me up.  Haven't found a reliable source of updates since then, and I just found these forums tonight...hopefully, someone HERE will have any sort of answer.

Before you tell me that Verizon and the Shitty of Pittsburgh are in some sort of franchising disagreement, I want to let you know that my DSL came out of the Dormont, PA CO, and apparently, that's why I'm able to get Fios Internet....the city residents, for the most part, do NOT seem to have availability.  I'm wondering if this CO arrangement will also allow for me to receive FiosTV before city residents, even though I'm technically within city limits.

So, my big question is, does anyone know when FiosTV is coming to the Dormont, PA area? 

Any reasonably sound information would be GREATLY appreciated.

The main problem you will run into is that most field techs, sales reps or call center reps have no clue when TV is going to come out in any particular area. We just make best guesses based on the multitude of different dates that we hear about. When TV service met its initial approval in this area, it appeared in the local news. It wasn't a big story tho, so you might have to search for it. After the authorisation was done, they began work on building the "multimedia hub" where all the TV programming would come from. As far as my area, that is the stage it is at. I have heard many different launch dates, but none can be confirmed. Just keep checking the news is what I do. Can I assume that, by your reply, you're also in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, and that perhaps you work for Verizon?
