How to Check NIM is working?

I had my system hooked up via the action tech and an extrenal NIM. I wanted to remove the ActionTech and replace it with a Linksys router, but I am not sure how to test that the NIM is working immediatly. When I disconnected the NIM the OSD works with all my STB, I assume this is due to the STB downloading all the information.

As I will be going away during the week I do not want to leave every1 in my house with a problem. Any help is appreciated.

if you are using one of the motorola NIM's it shouldn't be a problem
basically just look for ip connectivity in the linksys router and obviously that the NIM's is turned on
everything else should be business as usual.
