Fixing up outside installation myself?
«

I seems some of the installations ended up messy. Maybe I'm a bit perfectionist, but I want the outside cables in conduits, not just hanging around. It would be within my skills to do that if I can be sure I can safely disconnect and reconnect all the cables while putting them into conduits, including the fiber. I wonder if anyone tried to do that?

The only problem I can think of is you might get dirt on the end of the fiber connector. This could cause signal loss due to reflection. No matter how careful you are the dirt just seems to migrate to the end of the connector. Both sides should be cleaned prior to mating. We normally use a special dry lint free cloth for this. If have to remove the connector, put the dust caps on right away. Our fiber system was designed to restore automatically so your system should come back up after you reconnect.
