Upgrading Firmware on the D_link rev C Model

Hi everyone,
I have been asking and pleading with Verizon to issue the firmware updates since Sept 2005.
Nothing is being done and you cannot use D-links own.

Something  peculiar though happned.
I checked for firmware updates and let it do automatically.
I know, i had 2.4x 
Well, it installed  2.6x but is from sept 2005....
Anmyhow, IF you do this, Verizon forgot to include the propper setting, you need to get into router manually and  set connection to PPOE again or you have no service !

I noticed the same thing, however, my firmware update wasn't confirmed and its still listed as 1.04.  Connection got dropped and router lost ppoe.  Seems that the interent based flash update doesn't work too well.  Better off with a utility within the router s/w and manual install.

Internal based  FW doesnt work supplied from Dlink, its locked down to Verions  OLD versions.
And yes  Default settings  from FIOS own 2.5 firmware is NOT  PPOE enabled.....go figure
