I was just wondering? How much does a connectiion in the CAT-5 Cable effect the speed of the internet service. Last summer I had trouble with my modem connection to Comcast. When the tech came out, he said the connections were cheap connectors the contractor used, and replaced them with Comcast connectors. That seemed to help alot, because my modem kept going off line. I am going to change to FIOS soon and Verizon will not fish the wires into the walls. That means if I leave everything the same there will be 4 connections between thier Box and my modem. Should I fish a wire before they get here and to keep the connections to the lowest number possible? Or, will I be okay? Thank-You.
