It took me 11 days from the day I placed the order to the time it was installed but that was only because I was porting my phone number over from RCN which required them to give a 10 day notice. They said if I didn't want to do that then I would have been able to get it installed within a day or two.

On another note - One of the Project managers for the company I work for also works for Verizon and he is dealing mostly with the FIOS side of things. He informed me a while back that Verizon is ramping up everything that has to do with FIOS. Obviously Verizon has invested a significant amount of money in to this endeavor and wants to be able to deliver.

Hopefully anyone that orders their service in Massachusetts doesn't get the installer that I did. I posted that story on the Reviews / Feedback page if your interested. Even with that said I say jump on this as soon as you can. Unfortunately we can't get the TV service in my town yet but hopefully that will change sometime very soon!

~ Enjoy!!!

I order the service yesterday, 09/16/07, in Chesterfield County, VA area.
The earliest/My scheduled date for install is October 11th, 2007.
That means it will be almost a month for the time I placed my order to the time I have working service.

I believe FIOS only came available within the last month or so.
I am having all three services connected: Phone, Internet, TV.

ordered it online the day it became active in my area on August 21st with a scheduled install date of August 25th.  On August 23rd got a call to reschedule to September 25th, so disappointing and the wait was killing me, but tomorrow, barring any problems, I will be the first Fios customer on my block!

I was checking the Verizon 2 or 3 times a week to see when FIOS would be available in my area (Springfield, NJ) and on Sunday, September 30th it was.  I ordered on Monday, October 1st and they could have done the install 2 days later, but because I wanted to be home I delayed it until Thursday, October 11th.

It took them 2 days for the install since there was stray voltage running thru the telephone pole where they were hooking me to, so the Electric Company needed to fix that.  Otherwise I was very happy with the install.  They put everything right where I wanted it.
