Looks like the fiber upstream trunk goes down toward Ayer, MA from the intersection of 111 and Long Hill road. (you can see the fiber turnarounds along the poles all the way to Ayer)

Yesterday i saw Verizon guy tiding up the cable along Long Hill Road, and another Verizon trailer terminating the single mode fiber in the Bixby Hill area.

Have yet to identify if fiber is being run to downtown Groton area, and up/down 119.  Perhaps they will be extending the downstream trunk  towards downtown, up 111 from the intersection of Long Hill Road and 111.  (they my be hitting downtown Groton from the south, up 119 from Littleton since FIOS is already deployed there)

I drove down to the hardware store in Townsend, and looks like the fiber runs all the way to (and beyond) the downtown square.  With this much expantion to the fios area, i'd be that Shirley, Lundenberg, Harvard, Pepperall and Dunstable are on the list.

Kudos to the person who make this decision at Verizon!  Being there is absolutely no DSL availability (the copper condition here is really horrible) looks like us Grotonians are getting upgrades to FIOS and we can all be free of Evil Charter Cable pickpocket empire!!!

I should also mention there are plenty of houses and condos for sale in Groton, MA.  Smiley  much cheaper cost of living out here compaired to many other places in MA.
