Just got FIOS Business installed....internet and business line work fine.

However,

After discussing in detail with the technician that our residential line (coming into the same house) was to stay on copper, and not be touched, I ASSUMED he would follow through.

Turns out, he disconnected our residential phone, now the business phone rings on ALL extensions in the house.  The residential line rings apparently nowhere.

The biggest problem now is - I've called Verizon 5 times today - the FIOS people send me to the copper people, who can't get anyone out for 3 days.  They seem unable to forward our line to another number (they tried twice already).

I've had two promised callbacks today, with no follow up.

So, now I have no residential phone service, and Verizon isn't going to do anything about it.

My piece of advice for anyone having FIOS installed:

Do NOT let the technician leave until YOU have verified that everything works!  Otherwise, you will wait days to get anyone else out to your house.

I only tested the dialtone - stupidly, I didn't dial the numbers to make sure inbound calls were working.

Actualy, i think that it is not isolated.
Our wqhole developmnent is on ?Fiberoptics, although most have no internet from FIOS, they still use fiber for the Phone lines, there is no sigle copper wire here.
WE ALL have had and right now it uis working, major issues with cals.
It seems to me, that Verizon is way too thin stretched at present, to cope with the implementation of it all.

Jim; call in a trouble ticket on your business line and inform the tech when he gets there of your problem. 10 min fix. This is a common problem when ANYONE orders FIOS and leaves 1 phone on copper, we are not supposed to do these installs because we do not want to maintain 2 plants (fiber and copper). The number on copper will have to go on fiber in the future, not near future but in the future.
