Install Quality

In looking at the pictures of installs, the quality of the install seems to vary from moderately organized to bad.  Is this typical?

I own rental propert and I always personally supervise the installs when my tenants want cable or satellite service.  I know how sloppy the installers can be.

Does Verizon offer an option to install in a more professionally looking layout?  Something like a rack or something more organized that the boards shown on this forum?

We had a moderator on the board who did his own custom FiOS install. The pictures he took were amazing. When I say amazing, i mean it, everything was so neat and clean. He went all out on the installation. So, I guess it would all depend on who is doing the install. Some installers just want to get the job done fast, while others love what they do and will take their time and try to do things perfectly. It couldn't hurt to ask him to make everything look nice.

Best thing I can reccomend it work WITH him!!  If you have your rack setup and are willing to give the guy a hand, not just sit there and watch (more like annoy the guy), he'll love you.

I agree 100% with the others;  my FiOS install was done last November, right before the really cold weather hit, and I simply asked the installer if there was any way I could help him.  I explained that I was going to be close by working if he needed anything, and he basically kept me entertained to the point where I could NOT break away!  He did a great job on the install (sorry, I do not have any pictures, but I suppose I could take some), and he even accomodated my request for a second. longer cable to extend from the basement entrance to my third floor!  he took the time to show me how to re-open the ONT box, replace the shorted cable with the longer one, and he finally even accomodated my request to cut down the old copper wiring to the house!

I just cannot say enough good things about FiOS.  I am an IT guy, and this was far above what I have come to expect from verizon, so it looks to me like they have their best installers on these jobs!

I am moving to an area two miles from this house, that only has DSL service (from Verizon), and I just almost cannot wait until FiOS comes to the new neighborhood!
