I called Verizon's FIOS line to ask about availability.  Sure, not a new topic...
But it still is a worthy question -- why can't they supply a map of (approximate) coverage?
We are looking for a house, and broadband is an issue I take into consideration,
calling Verizon, or even web-search-qualification for each house we may consider is
just too much... I wish there was a simpler way to figure out where FIOS is already
(not to talk about future plans, now that will be "too much to ask", right?  Roll Eyes)

I'd be willing to bet they are not providing such a map since that would
provide their competitors valuable information about they're deployment and
plans.  This would not be in their (and your) best interest so they may
sustain the rollout plan.  (As the element of surprise is always best in any
conflict Smiley

if you are planning to move to a new area, use a street address, look do a
reverse phone number lookup, then check availability that way.

I would HIGHLY suggerst a brandnew area, there is  ZERO interest for them to install cupper since Verizon is in process of rolling out TV as is within one line being Fiber Optic, keeps cost down and availability of services to  one provider.
Thus the reason wwe asked every single developer  what their HOA offers, if they said Time Warner " Local monopolyu on TV" we left...........

I found an availability map at         http:/www.dslreports.com/gmaps/fios

basically if you register with this site you can then add a pin to thier map (the map runs on google maps and is currently only available for the USA.) The map is for people who have it installed in thier home or business. Currently Map stats: data drawn from 1251 location pins, 556 reviews and many speed tests. Maybe we can help em out and get that pin number up for a more accurate map.

Update: 1253 location pins, 557 reviews and many speed tests
    Update 2: 1255 location pins, 558 reviews.

Would be nice if we could add pins where we've spotted fiber crews. I live in Maryland, and spotted some work east of the Marley area (21060) of Glen Burnie. Some old land down there is being subdivided and home developers are moving into the area. Verizon hopes to be first on the scene with broadband. Hoping some of the work then moves closer to my home.

There is such a map available.  Once you register yourself an account on dslreports.com, go to maps, then Verizon Fios Predicted (on the right of the page, under Mash Ups).

Once there, you can search by zip code and state.  Again, it is only available for the US.  If you live around Norwalk, CA, you'll see my pin there, that I update every week with new info as Verizon continues to build out their fiber service in my city.

Hopefully that will provide you with the information you need.  Tongue
